Yellow footed Green Pigeon


The Yellow-footed Green Pigeon also known as Yellow-legged Green Pigeon is a common species of Green Pigeon found in the Indian Subcontinent. It is also the State bird of Maharashtra, India. In local language it is called Hariyal. The species feeds on fruits of a large variety of fruit trees including a number of species of Ficus.

  2. I rescued a hariyal who fallen from her/his nest. I am feeding smashed banana and boiled rice to it. Yesterday's dropping were all fluid . I am worried about what to feed and how much to feed as my end objective is to release him in the wild and teach him necessary survival skills

  3. I rescued a small yellow-footed green pigeon baby from my apartment lift lobby which was severly injured , she is only eating banana and grapes and she is not even drinking water also.. should i bring another local pigeon for her or should i keep her alone

    1. i have one , if its a baby it needs protein , Nestle Purina for kittens is the best food . my bird is 4 months old , still on that diet . mix with water and wait for some time so that it gets soft . also give it boiled egg !!! if you can very little worms would also be good , for the growth f the baby .
